My name is Matt Battifarano. I am a PhD student in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. Before starting here, I spent three years as a data scientist at Bridj, a smart urban transportation startup where I built models of transit demand within a city and methods to optimize vehicle routes to meet that demand. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics with a minor in Computational Neuroscience from the University of Chicago in 2012.
